This week instead of a giveaway, I want to do a sort of suggestion box theme. I want to know what you think I should improve, what you'd like to see more of, what you like, dislike, whatever! I want to know what YOU want. I'm thinking about switching things up a bit for the new year, but I want to check with my loyal fans to see what you think about how things have been. PLEASE be honest! I can take it, I promise. Criticism is only going to help me grow this business, so I really want to hear it. If there is a color in particular that you'd like me to design more of, let me know! If you feel like my photography sucks, tell me! (I already know...don't worry) If the history lesson posts bore you to death, give it to me! You guys are always so good at encouragement, and while I LOVE hearing that, and definitely appreciate all of the support, it's not what is going to help me take this to the next level. I want this coming year to be successful, and the only way that is going to happen is with YOUR help.
To sweeten the deal (and to bribe you into participating), the person who I feel gives me the most constructive, useful advice is going to get a holiday present from me as a thank you. Something small, tasteful, sparkly... in a little white box with a peach ribbon. I appreciate your help in advance! I am excited to hear from ALL of you....yes you. This week better have the most comments ever!
THANKS EVERYONE!

I would like to see more green! Just because it's my favorite color. Also I think you should branch out and have an Indiana line..because it's way cooler than California. Ok, that won't win me the prize for most constructive criticism. :) Also, I like some of the chunkier pieces with the bigger beads more than the more simple ones with just the stones. I also would be interested in seeing more earrings! Overall, your stuff is wicked awesome and I'm quite impressed with it! :)
Thanks wench, that was all very helpful! You're so right about the earrings..for some reason they're really hard for me to do even though it seems like they should be so easy. I have a necklace I think you will like going up on Etsy today. Let me know what you think!
I think all of your jewelry is awesome and creative. I would say if you want to grow your business then start networking A LOT! There are a lot of other moms in the blog world that are making a living off their creativity. Some are really successful! Check out http://lindseycheney.blogspot.com/, http://www.lisaleonardonline.com/blog/, http://mymamamadeit.blogspot.com/.
These are just a few women that are very successful. Maybe becoming "blog friends" and talking with them will give you ideas on how to make your business as successful as theirs!!
For once, I'm with Kati (although, not on the Indiana thing). I'd like to see more earrings. I also like your necklaces the most when they have the more intricate chains/when the chains are layered or something ... although that's just a personal preference. As far as the history lessons go, I think they're great. But maybe just make them a little shorter? That way people's attention don't wander. I personally really like them, but I could see how people might get distracted from your beautiful creations.
Let's see ... I think you could also maybe do some rewards programs that would reward (obviously) people who frequently shop or pimp (for lack of a better word) your blog. For example, you could do a "frequent shopper" card and if someone buys ... oh 7 things, they get one of a certain value or under free. Or if person #1 recommends person #2 and person #2 buys something, maybe person #1 gets $5 toward the purchase of an item of their choice. That way, you get business, people get your beautiful stuff, everyone is happy :)
But you're doing great! Keep up the good work. LOVE the Love/Haight necklace. Trying to figure out if my husband will kill me if I buy it ...
i also really like when you do intricate chain designs. mostly i would like to see more lost & found type stuff, because i feel like you did a lot of that at the beginning, but not much lately and those are always my favorites (like the palm springs and purple passion--which also both have cool chain designs--, and of course, the poppies nouveau). i also liked at the very beginning of the blog when you would explain where some of those lost & found items came from, like the chandelier lamp. all the vintage-y looking one are really cool, and i tend to like them a lot more than the ones made with stones, but maybe others have other opinions. and i think you should sell the version of the santa monica necklace from your blog instead of the one you have on etsy because the one on your blog with the three rings rocks. -jen
I really like the history lessons because people that are not from CA will be able to start to appreciate the reasons your pieces have come to be. I also love the packaging of the items when they are delivered. One suggestion I have would be to offer frequent buyer advantages. Maybe not necessarily items for free, but perhaps coupons for people whom have purchased an item. Say, if they buy an item they get a coupon along with their delivery that is redeemable within a month's time for a certain percentage. Sort of as a thank you for purchasing, as well as encouraging them to buy from you again. Also, you may want to get a stamp or packaging created that includes your poppies logo for your deliveries. That is more of an aesthetic suggestion, but it would enhance your packaging for your beautiful jewelry. One other thing would be watches. I know people that go CRAZY for bracelet watches (my mother being one of them). That may be something to consider venturing into. I love your stuff and you! Keep up the good work! :)
Finally checked out this awesome page in detail. My suggestion is to do a few items for the few of us in our early 40's that follow you. I love the layered chains and vintage findings you have. Maybe a few more bracelets in your collection. You can always layer those up but not so much with the necklaces. Everything you've made has such thought put into it...love it! Keep designing girl.
